Senior Associate - EIP Digital - Nationwide

A significant position in the EIP Digital group, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate or aspirational Associate to develop their skills at the coalface of some exciting direct client relationships.

The successful attorney will handle a mixture of work. This will include drafting and prosecution work but there is also a chance to combine a prosecution caseload with some exciting work in litigation support where the opportunity allows.

We are looking for a candidate who can offer expertise in electronics matters and who is familiar with technologies in the software and wireless / telecoms sectors, though all backgrounds will be considered. Due to EIP’s predominantly direct client base, experience in handling drafting & prosecution on behalf of direct clients would be advantageous. As a 'trusted lieutenant' to the partners you will be tasked with managing specific projects on our high profile patent litigation caseload. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • An undergraduate degree in a scientific subject;
  • GDL / LPC passed (or due to complete the LPC in summer 2018);

Within a national group of paralegals, the patent support team in London remains at the heart of our business, providing administrative and PA support to our highly skilled team of fee earners.

Paralegals work closely with their allocated Fee Earner(s), dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks and allowing their Fee Earner(s) to make the best use of their time. They also perform certain aspects of patent and/or trademark work without guidance, and this requires knowledge of the relevant patent, trademark and design application procedures.

Paralegals should have good knowledge of EIP, its activities and key people, to ensure that work can be handled appropriately for and on behalf of Fee Earner(s) at all times, including when they are absent.
