Florian Schmidt-Bogatzky ist ein sehr erfahrener deutscher und UPC Patent Litigator, der in zahlreichen Patentprozessen und Portfoliokampagnen federführend beteiligt war und ist, häufig in grenzüberschreitenden Streitigkeiten. Seine Tätigkeit umfasst auch damit zusammenhängende Aspekte wie die Beratung zu FRAND-Strategien, die Beweisbeschaffung und vorläufige Maßnahmen wie einstweilige Verfügungen. Seine Tätigkeitsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Elektronik, Telekommunikation, Automobil und Pharma. Herr Schmidt-Bogatzky hat in diesem Zusammenhang eine der ersten Klagen vor dem neuen Einheitlichen Patentgericht eingereicht.
Herr Schmidt-Bogatzky organisierte unter anderem maßgeblich die Prozessführung in den Patentstreitigkeiten Broadcom gegen Netflix, Broadcom gegen Tesla und Sonos gegen Google .
Herr Schmidt-Bogatzky hat seit 2007 einen Lehrauftrag für IP-Recht an einer Hamburger Universität. Er hat einen Master of Laws in Patent- und Immaterialgüterrecht von der George Washington University und ist als Anwalt in New York zugelassen. Er spricht Deutsch und Englisch.
Die Tätigkeit von Herrn Schmidt-Bogatzky wurde wiederholt in Rankings und juristischen Fachpublikationen sowie von Mandanten hervorgehoben.

- Participating in defending a major telecom company against NPE IPCom series of proceedings (SEP and implementation patents).
- Representing a Japanese electronics company and defending against claims by NPEs as well as competitors.
- Representing a U.S. company as plaintiff in cases relating to chips and network equipment, and in defensive proceeding including enforcement activities.
- Acting for an NPE in litigation involving AMR-WB technology.
- Representing a producer of child security products in various cases against competitors (PI and regular actions)
- Acting for a U.S. company in trademark and unfair competition disputes relating to advertising in Germany.
- Representing an Asian company in proceedings relating to LEDs.
- Negotiating license agreements in connection with transactions for a tech company.
