Ida Christensen

Ida is a European and Swedish patent attorney who specialises in life sciences, in particular biotechnology and medical technology. She has years of experience in advising on patent strategies and prosecuting of patent applications for clients in the pharmaceutical, probiotics, diagnostics, and medtech industries. Her practice covers proteins, microorganisms, food ingredients, 3D-printing technologies and medical devices, downstream processing of biomolecules, and the crossover area of biotechnology and the digital domain. Ida provides support in litigation and opposition and performs freedom to operate and validity evaluations. She also advises on the role of IP for accelerating sustainable development.

Prior to joining EIP, Ida was a partner at a Swedish IP firm and previously also worked for the Swedish Patent and Registration Office where she was a patent examiner and responsible for training and examination of patent examiners for several years. Further, she has lectured patent attorneys and university students on IP.

Ida holds a M.Sc. in Engineering Biology, with a specialisation in biotechnology, enzymology, and fermentation technology, and in her thesis focused on purification and characterisation of enzymes at the Danish company Chr. Hansen A/S.
