Partner hire and promotions at EIP

EIP has announced two promotions to partner – Robert Lundie Smith and Laurence Brown - and a new appointment – Richard Gordon-Brown, partner - significantly strengthening its expertise across all IP matters.

Richard Gordon-Brown is joining the firm as partner from patent and trade mark attorneys, Page White & Farrer.  His background spans a broad range of mechanical devices and technologies, from packaging and printers, automotive engineering and medical devices.  He has represented clients across the UK and US in SMEs and multinationals.  Richard will be based in the Bath office, working as part of the EIP Dynamics team.

Robert Lundie Smith is based in the London office, and has worked for EIP for two years.  His practice focuses on contentious and non-contentious IP matters, and he has extensive experience in advising disputes relating to IP issues, patents, SPCs, trademarks, copyright and design, in industries ranging from pharmaceutical to telecommunications.

Based in Leeds, Laurence Brown has worked at EIP since 2012.  Working predominantly across the engineering, telecommunications, electronics and medical devices sectors, he is experienced in prosecution and post-grant work worldwide, particularly in the UK, Europe and US.

Gary Moss, partner and head of EIP Legal, commented: “The promotion of Robert and Laurence represents a further step in the continued expansion of EIP, and really strengthens our capabilities across the board.

“We welcome Richard to the firm, who brings with him a wealth of specialist knowledge which will add value to our service areas as well as the firm’s offering as a whole.  We are delighted to have him on board.”
