Isabelle Schaller

Isabelle is an attorney-at-law since 2014 and a member of EIP's Litigation team in the Düsseldorf office. She advises and represents national and international clients in all areas of intellectual property law. Her focus is on advising and representing clients in cross-border patent infringement proceedings in various technical fields, especially telecommunications, at all relevant patent infringement courts in Germany.

She joined EIP having completed a law degree at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn. During her legal clerkship she trained in the legal department of a leading trading and travel company. She speaks English fluently. Isabelle is a member of GRUR, a German IP association and VPP (Association of Intellectual Property Experts).

Experience

  • Representing Desktop Metal/Envisiontec (claimant) against Sprintray over 3D printing in PI (preliminary injunction) case.
  • Acting for Conversant Wireless v Daimler in comprehensive standard-essential patent litigation relating to FRAND licencing in complex supply chains for connected cars.
  • Acting for Conversant Wireless v LG, Huawei and ZTE in comprehensive multinational litigation relating to telecommunication patents.
  • Work for Broadcom/Avago as plaintiff in cases relating to chips/wifi and bluetooth in cars.
  • Acting for Unwired Planet Int. Ltd. v Google, Samsung, Huawei, HTC and LG regarding six patents covering 2G, 3G and LTE technologies.
  • Acting for Good Technology in a major international litigation against two competitors.

Recent work

  • Representing Claimant in several PI (preliminary injunction) cases and main action regarding mechanical instruments.
  • Acting for IP Bridge v Huawei, ZTE, and Xiaomi in comprehensive SEP litigation relating to FRAND licencing.
