Ben has an expertise in materials science, having completed a PhD in nuclear engineering with continued research as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London. As a researcher, Ben authored eight publications and attended international conferences where he often gave talks about his research.

Prior to his PhD, Ben earned a first class Master of Engineering degree from Imperial College London and carried out research on a 14-week placement for the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation in Sydney.
