About the Finance department
EIP’s finance department sits in the firm’s London office and consists of nine finance professionals: one Financial Controller, Credit Controller, Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Accounts Payable Supervisor, Accounts Payable Clerk and Accounts Clerk.

About the vacancy
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join our firm.
The Management Accountant will report into the Financial Controller, ensuring effective accounting in relation to the international entities of EIP as well as the UK entity, whilst assisting the Financial Controller in performing month end and year end tasks.
In this role you will be utilising your technical accounting expertise to provide the following support for our US and German offices, as well as affiliated UK business, Patently Ltd.
EIP uses Access Dimensions as our core finance system, in addition to Access Workspace and Inprotech.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts with appropriate commentary
- Support the year-end and audit processes
- Maintain accurate accounts - this includes maintaining fixed assets, accounts payable, prepayments, accruals, and cash ledgers
- Post all partner transactions to the appropriate finance system
- Complete monthly reconciliations including intercompany reconciliations
- Collaborate with local management to handle varied financial queries
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues, disbursements and expenses
- Provide appropriate cover for Financial Controller and other team members during periods of absence
- Handle any other reasonable ad hoc requests and tasks
Skills, experience & qualifications
You will be comfortable working in a modern, fast-paced environment where you are given a level of autonomy to do your work.
Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- At least 3 to 4 years’ professional experience within accounting – legal or professional services background is preferred. Those who are part-qualified and undertaking their studies towards achieving accreditation under ACCA or CIMA would be desirable
- Demonstrable experience using and understanding of financial systems - Access Dimensions, Access Workspace and Inprotech would be preferred
- An appropriate professional attitude (personable, well prepared, flexible and enthusiastic)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to deal with a variety of people at different levels
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent research and presentation skills
- Self-motivation, and the ability to manage own workload
- Meticulous attention to detail, and an analytical mind
- Initiative and the ability to act independently
