Charles Hempsted

Associate, Patent Scientist

Charles focuses on electronics and telecoms and joined EIP having completed a Master's degree in Physics at University College London.

His final year project was a study into increasing the efficiency of reluctance accelerators by analysing a wide range of possible magnetic sheath geometries. This included both setting up and running simulations of calculated magnetic coupling to a projectile for various sheaths, and testing these findings by constructing a reluctance accelerator.

Since joining EIP, Charles has drafted patent applications for a range of clients including SMEs and large multinationals, focusing on electronics, 3D printing, image processing, healthcare and display devices.

  • Drafted patent applications for a range of clients including SMEs as well as for large multinationals, such as Respro, Holoxica, HP, Arm and Siemens.

Recent work

  • Prosecuted multiple applications for Sonos, Megger, Metaswitch, an Ace Axis.
