Danny is former Head of IP at Airbus and led the engineering team at a UK IP firm before joining EIP.
Danny is frequently recognised as a leading IP practitioner by independent legal guides. He has considerable experience handling a diverse range of engineering technologies, including aerospace, food packaging, medical devices, electromechanical control systems, photolithography systems and manufacturing.
He is experienced in dealing with all aspects of IP law from drafting and prosecution to EPO opposition and appeal hearings, due diligence projects, providing clearance advice and coordinating patent litigation across multiple jurisdictions.
Danny’s approach to practice is influenced by his time in a corporate IP department and the strategic and financial considerations associated with building and maintaining a large patent portfolio. For a FTSE 250 multinational, Danny created a “virtual IP department” responsible for coordinating IP strategy, filing and prosecution, defining IP policies and procedures, and budgeting across the group of companies.
Danny has a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester and a Post-graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.
