Thomas Hailes

Thomas has a background in Chemistry and is a patent specialist in the EIP Elements practice. He joined EIP after working as a Research Scientist where he focused on security features, LEDs, horticulture, polymer additives and formulations.

Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester. His final year project studied Polymetallic Metal-Organic Frameworks with potential applications for materials that form qubit-gates.

Thomas is a keen advocate of broadening access to the IP profession. He is on the committee currently in the process of launching a new IP Inclusive community named IP Futures, for early career stage IP professionals, and is also involved with Careers in Ideas, an initiative that was created for anyone considering a career in IP.
