EIP strengthens IP litigation practice with further lawyer hire

Intellectual property attorneys and solicitors EIP have appointed IP lawyer Robert Lundie-Smith from McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP (MWE) in London.

Robert will be part of the IP litigation practice, EIP Legal, and will work alongside the head of EIP Legal, Gary Moss, who joined EIP in October 2011 from his previous position as Head of Intellectual Property Litigation at MWE. Robert had previously worked alongside Gary at MWE for almost three years following his joining that firm from the Bar in early 2009. At the Bar Robert had been instructed before both the Patents County Court and High Court including as junior counsel in the High Court trials of Armour Group Plc v Leisuretech Electronics Pty Ltd and Vestergaard Frandsen AS & Anor v Bestnet Europe Ltd & Ors

Robert’s practice focusses on contentious and non-contentious IP matters. He has extensive experience in advising in disputes (both High Court and Court of Appeal) relating to patents, trademarks, copyright, designs and confidential information in industries including pharmaceutical/biotechnology, telecommunications, medical devices and diagnostics.  Robert also has experience of proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union and has been involved in a number of actions concerning SPCs.  Alongside his legal qualifications, Robert has a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in chemistry/chemical physics
