Partner Darren Smyth will be a member of the panel at an IP law seminar to mark the collaboration between the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice (JIPLP) and leading German IP title GRUR Int. Darren is a regular contributor to the JIPLP.

The seminar is entitled ‘Secondary Protection for Innovation in Germany: Problem or Solution?’ and will explore the scope of protection provided to innovations by the German Utility Model (Gebrauchsmuster) – a right which does not currently exist in the UK, and which is similar to a patent, but with shorter term and lower threshold of inventive step.

The seminar takes place at the London office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer on 22 January at 3.30pm. For more details, click here.
