A team from EIP will be tackling the London-Brighton cycle ride in aid of the charity Beanstalk, which supports primary school children with their reading.

The riders, which includes Gary Moss, Matthew Blaseby, Simon Maller, Sunny Bansal, Carissa Kendall-Palmer, Emma Wilkins, and Nathan Pennington, will ride the 54-mile route from the capital to the south coast on 8 September.

They hope to raise more than £2,500 for Beanstalk, which will be used to train volunteers to help children in primary schools local to EIP’s head office in London.

Partner Matthew Blaseby said: “Beanstalk recruits, trains and supports volunteers in primary schools all around the UK to help provide one-to-one tuition for those children who have fallen behind with their reading. Reading is something so many of us take for granted, and Beanstalk gives those finding reading a challenge a real advantage.

“On a recent visit to St Alban’s C of E Primary and Nursery school in London, Gary, Simon, Carissa and I were able to see first-hand the work Beanstalk is doing and witness the children’s new-found enthusiasm for books.”
