Thirteen individuals from EIP have been recommended in the 2017 edition of the highly-respected Legal 500 guide, with EIP praised for its responsiveness and commercial approach.

EIP’s patent practice was described as “extremely responsive”, with partners Jerome Spaargaren, Heather McCann, Darren Smyth, Iain Russell, Laurence Brown and Andrew Sharples highlighted.

The EIP Legal team was noted for having “made waves for its work in hi-tech patent litigation”. All four UK-based partners were ranked: Gary Moss, Robert Lundie-Smith, Matt Jones and Andrew Sharples.

Researchers noted the “excellent client service” provided by EIP’s trademark practice, with Paula Flutter, Carissa Kendall-Windless, Laura Foster and Sharon Daboul singled out.

EIP named one of Europe's leading patent firms for the eighth year running, with gold in five sectors

EIP has again been named one of Europe's leading patent law firms by the Financial Times. In its 2026 ranking, EIP earned gold in five of the six technology sectors, and silver in the sixth, Materials and Nanotechnology. It is the eighth year running the firm has featured, every year since the ranking began in 2019.
