EIP’s UK Trade Mark Attorneys have today become Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys after the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA) was awarded a Royal Charter.

ITMA was founded in 1934 and is the membership organisation that represents the interests of the UK trade mark profession.

ITMA has become the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) in recognition of its important role in representing the specialist work of Trade Mark Attorneys in the UK.

The grant of the Royal Charter formalises the role of CITMA in the profession and will further distinguish Trade Mark Attorneys as experts in trade mark and design work.

The three Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys at EIP are Paula Flutter, head of EIP Brands, Sharon Daboul and Carissa Kendall-Windless.

Senior Associate, Sharon Daboul, commented: “This is great news for the UK Trade Mark Attorney profession and a milestone for CITMA. The title “Chartered Trade Mark Attorney” confirms to our clients that we are legal experts and leading practitioners in the trade mark and design community.”
