Bob is a former VP of Patents at a technology licensing company and has more than 10 years of experience managing significant patent portfolios in the mobile and gaming industries.
Bob joined EIP from Unwired Planet where as the sole U.S. patent attorney he pursued various patent prosecution strategies to develop a high value portfolio of more than 2,500 patent assets related to mobile communication technology, including numerous mobile communication Standard Essential Patent families. Bob managed ten inter partes post-grant proceedings at the USPTO and was involved in a $100 million license and patent asset sale to Lenovo.
Previously, Bob spent seven years as IP counsel for the industry's largest gaming technology company, responsible for a portfolio of more than 1,500 patents. He managed various patent and IP litigations and negotiated and drafted IP procurement and licensing contracts valued at more than $100 million. Bob also worked as IP counsel for a social media and gaming studio where he managed all IP and related legal matters.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Bob worked as a civil engineer. He has a J.D from University of Denver College of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University of Nevada.
